The Principles of Successful Handicapping

When Mark started with horse racing at age 12, he was given $18.00 to play the track that day.  He could have bet it all on one “sure thing” from the buzz he heard around the track, but after considering the risks if he lost his only $18.00, he decided to lay $2.00 per race for 9 races.  He was successful from that approach and has used this first principle ever since:  MONEY MANAGEMENT.

As Mark developed as a true sports junkie as a teenager, he consistently organized season long handicapping pools with his friends.  The pools were set up so that each person had to pick every game, every week during the football and basketball seasons.  As you well know, with that many games, it is nearly impossible to know about every game and most of the time you wind up guessing.  If you are lucky with this approach, you may hit in the 20 or 30% range.  That may be good enough to win a pool, but you are truly winning on luck.  To make it when you start betting with a sports book, that is a sure way to lose all your money quickly.  Mark did the math and quickly learned the second principle:  WIN PERCENTAGE.

How We Win

During the course of any week odds makers and sports books have to set lines for EVERY game being played. We simply find a few of their mistakes. We spend hours researching the games. We compile enormous amounts of information that includes statistics, trends, injury reports, weather reports and emotional factors. We also receive information from a network of personal contacts, which we has developed and maintained throughout the past couple of decades.  Then there is Mark’s secret weapon:  His own system play software program.

Mark received his degree in computer science and immediately started building his extensive databases, probability analysis software and situational/simulation analysis.  The strength of these programs lies in football in basketball, but have been coming along for baseball and hockey analysis.  Like anything else, there is never a guarantee or a sure “lock” on any game, but the experience and analysis provides the edge you will love as you become successful in betting our picks.
