No question this will be one of the most watched World Cup Matches played. USA really could not have drawn a worse opening match then this one and while I will be watching and cheering on the USA National Team I just don’t see them getting by England in this game.

Team USA may have an advantage in one area, goalie Tim Howard. Howard has proven himself to be one of the elite goalkeepers in the world. On offense, the US will rely on the play of Landon Donovan and Clint Dempsey. This game will come down to these two players, if Donovan and Dempsey have huge games the US can beat anyone anytime. The bad news for the US is their defense which is truly unproven and could have some pretty big holes facing one of if not the deepest team in the World Cup.

England enters this match and the World Cup without their star Team Captain Rio Ferdinand but there is not much concern on the other side of the Pond as England brings a deep midfield line-up with Lampard, Cole, Carrick, Gerrard and Wright-Phillips. England also has an advantage in the forward position with Rooney and Crouch.

With the better goalie and both defenses playing with injuries we could see more then a few goals in this one and while the US will always have a shot based off on Howard, Donovan and Demsey, playing England in the opening round of the World Cup just seems like an uphill battle. USA hangs in there but we see a final score of Engalnd 4 USA 2.
