NFL Handicappers Preview: Atlanta Falcons (8-0) at New Orleans Saints (3-5) 11/11 1:00 PM EST.

The best sports handicappers preview this NFC South matchup at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The undefeated Falcons look to remain unbeaten as they travel into The Big Easy to take on a resurgent Saints team. Although the Saints got off to an awful start, they have managed to make it back to 3-5, after beating the Eagles last week.

 

Current Vegas Odds have the Falcons at 2.5 point favorites, while the total sits at 53.5.  Public money is split nearly right down the middle with a slight edge to the Falcons spread. Expert money sees things a little differently with money being placed on the Saints at home plus the points. Both public and expert cash is being laid HEAVILY on the over.

 

The visiting Falcons are lead by Matt Ryan who deserves all the credit for getting the team off to a great start. Ryan is 206 for 299, with a completion rate of 68.9% and 2,360 yards. Ryan has also thrown for 17 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. His current rating sits at 103. Roddy White has 709 yards on the year to compliment 4 touchdowns in 47 receptions. Tony Gonzalez has been an integral part of the passing attack with 50 catches to go along with his 495 yards and 4 touchdowns.

 

Drew Brees is throwing much like he has in the past, throwing 209 completions in 342 attempts, for a 61% completion rate. He has already thrown for 2,549 yards this season and has 22 touchdowns to his credit, along with 8 interceptions. Overall he is rated at 95.8. His favorite targets thus far include the likes of Marques Colston who has 44 receptions on the year for 626 yards and 6 touchdowns. Lance moore has also been a primary target for Brees with 33 receptions and 494 yards, along with 2 touchdowns. Brees also seems to have found Jimmy Graham an awful lot this year, with 28 catches for 387 yards and 5 touchdowns.

 

The Saints would love nothing more than to knock off an undefeated Falcons team on their path to getting back to .500. Expect this to be a good, old fashioned shoot out with a high total.
