The best sports handicappers preview tonight’s matchup at Heinz Field. The Steelers are looking to pull even with the Ravens atop the AFC North, but they will have to do it without the help of their star quarterback. Roethlisberger suffered a seperated shoulder at the hands of the chiefs last week and is not available for tonight’s contest. Pittsburgh has won four in a row after a rough start to the season. Meanwhile the Ravens have won 6 of their last 7 heading into tonight’s contest.
Current Vegas Odds have the Ravens as 3.5 point favorites, and the total sits at 41. Without question this will be a bone bruising divisional game, one certainly worthy of the Sunday Night game of the week. Both public and expert money is being placed on the Ravens spread, while both also agree that the total should stay under 41. Both teams are 4-5 against the spread so far this season.
The Ravens will travel into Pittsburgh after winning their last two, riding the hot hand of Joe Flacco, who is 186 for 309 for a 60.2% completion rate. He has also thrown for 2,331 yards, 13 touchdowns and 7 interceptions for an overall rating of 88.3. Obviously Ray Rice will lead the ground attack with 657 yards already this year in 144 attempts, rushing for 7 touchdowns.
Meanwhile the Steelers will send Byron Leftwich out who has only attempted 14 passes this year, however he has completed half of them for 73 yards. Look for Leftwich to throw to Dwyer who leads the receivers in yardage at 355, but has not made it into the endzone. Isaac Redman will also be a huge target for Leftwich with his 295 receiving yards, 84 catches, and 2 touchdowns.
Look for this to be a hard fought division battle. If Baltimore wins they will move two games ahead of the Steelers in the division, and push their winning streak to 3 games. This is a Ravens defense that NEEDS Roethlisberger on the sidelines, while the Steelers will look to contain a high powered Ravens offense.
